My credit card was declined. What do I do?

There are a few reasons why your credit card transaction maybe decline. Below are the most common scenarios.

  1. The total amount is above the daily limit. - To resolve this, kindly call your bank to inform them about the transaction and request for an increase on your credit limit.
  2. The total amount is in a currency that you don't usually pay in. - For security reasons, some banks will decline transactions if the credit card holder is paying in different currency. To resolve this, kindly call your bank to inform them about your transaction and advise them that you are paying using a different currency.  
  3. You are using a corporate card. - For some corporate credit cards, banks may set certain restrictions for security purposes. To resolve this, kindly call your bank to get an approval for this transaction.
